Gus Russell and Laurie HammondPiano and Vocals on the Third Saturday of every monthVocalist: Laurie Hammond has been singing since childhood but is a relative newcomer to the professional music scene. She has been a soloist with Bernie Souza, Mark Hazard, and Gus Russell; featured vocalist in the Cottage Grove Rhythm and Blues Revue; and currently is the lead vocalist in Mood Indigo with Paul Biondi and other luminaries. Pianist: Gus Russell has been teaching and performing for the last 25 years. He has polished his jazz and blues chops by sharing the stage with Curtis Salgato, Paul Delay, Don Latarski and even Tiny Tim. Gus has also been a featured artist at the Hinman Winery Jazz Festival, Art in the Vineyard, LaVelles Music series, Chateau Loraine, and many festivals through out the Northwest. Together they create magic; whether singing one of the great jazz standards, or belting out the blues, Laurie's smooth and smoky vocal style paired with Gus's masterful piano playing is a combination not to be missed. |
